VISIT OF THE HON. F. WHIT A ZEE. By the Rotomahana last night Mr Whitaker arrived. His risifc is principally to arrange a difference there exists between Mr Alley of Hikutaia and Tamati Paetai and other natives of that place orer the boundaries of certain blocks of land.
Immediately after arrival, Mr Whitaker was waited upon by a number of gentlemen on various matters of business, and this morning the hon. gentleman left in Mr Ehrenfried's buggy for Hikutaia. It is probable that he will visit Tukukino, and it is to be hoped that the result Of their interview will be a settlement of the vexed question of the Komata road. Mr Whitaker was accompanied by Mr Alexander Aitken, and Mr G. T. Wilkinson. During his visit the hon gentleman will inspect the Government departments here, and it is understood that on his report several important matters will hang. On his return tomorrow, he will be interviewed by the local bodies, etc., on several matters of interest, including the Miners' Bights question. »
