The report was received and the accounts ordered to be paid. The surgeon sent in his usual report, giving the number of patients, &c. t which was received.
It was resolved, upon the motion of Mr Renshaw, to ask the Friendly Societies to give a demonstration in favor of the Hospital funds towards the end of the year. LEAVE OF ABSIKCB. A letter was read from Dr Payne asking for leave of. absence owing to ill health, and also asking that the Senior Hon. Staff-Surgeon, Dr Huxtable, might be allowed to take oharge of the Hospitali Mr McCullough moved that the requests of the surgeon be granted, which was seconded by Mr Ahier and carried. Mr Mcllhono suggested the appointment of a surgeon to take charge daring Dr Payne's absence should be left in the hands of the Committee, but he was over ruled. Mr Ehrenfried drew attention to the circumstances of the late enquiry, and considered that the Committee had been .treated, with scant courtesy by the Government in the matter.
Mr Mcllbone said another inquiry would likely be held, as he understood a petition aiking for one had been sent to the Government. He thought the President was right in calling attention to the matter, and suggested that the Government should be written to upon tho subject. The matter, however, after some conversation dropped. Mr Mulligan thought that with the tenders for supplies, that one for wines and spirits should be included. The Eevs. Lush, Laishley; O'lteilly, and Mr Price were appointed House committee for the ensuing month.
