HAPE CHEEK.
Though Mr Greenville finds it unpayable to work his mine in conseqnecce of the action of the County Council in increasing the water charges, I am gled to hear that work has not been stopped, as was Mr Greenville's first intention, he having let the mine on tribute to Williams, Hearn, and others. It is the intention of the tributen to operate on the block worked up to the present by Mr Greenville; but, instead of stoping in the ordinary way they will underhand stope commenciog from the level above the bottom drive. By his method the tributers will not have so much water to contend with, and hope to be be able to keep it below them by only one horoe at the whim, instead of three or four as at present.
