Mr Haywood's Panorama.
The exhibition of Mr Howard Hay. wood's panorama of New Zealand attracted a large audience to the Academy of Music last evening. The views com" prise choice pieces of scenery from all parts of the colony, pictures of the principal cities and towns, and representations of the chief buildings and places of interest therein. All these were thrown on a mammoth screen by the aid of a < powerful lime light lantern, and the effect was excellent. Amongst the pictures were several of this district, every place of interest being shown. Mr Haywood gave a concise descriptive lecture which was duly appreciated. We understand that the proprietors intention in collecting this panorama is to take it to the old country, and exhibit it in London and the provinces, with the laudable view of " showing our countrymen what New Zea« land is really like. Before going Home, the 'panorama will be exhibited at Melbourne during the exhibition season, where, no doubt it will attract consider' able attention.
