At the Magistrate's Court the Return* iug Officer for one-.of the Borough wards was sued for not accepting nomination of
a candidate at the election of Councillors. The ground oflhe objection was that the qualification of the candidate was not of the usual value of £25. Since then it has 1 been discovered that this qualification had bpeu withdrawn by Act of Parliament, and defendant was therefore fined Is, and 5s costs.
