A TALE OP THE PACIFIC. Wm, Opperman, Esq., a wealthy island • rader, wan for pome months lying ill at Mappemamrn», »n island of the Kingsm : Group, in the Pacific. He had been seized with rheumatic fevtr, which was followed by complicated di orders of a terribly eevere nature, Bssumina the form of a species of pulsy never before known. The sufferer's limbs bwelled, the legs lost all sensibility to puiii; the foot could be wrenched round or the skin pierced with a lance without in dieting the slightest suffering. The sick man was i yidently unconscious of his having legs, and Mb bruin was seriously affected as it with lunacy. In this deplorable state he was kindlj brought from ihe island* to Auck land by Mr H. Henderson in the schooner Coronet, Captain Moeller, and, being a German, he was received by the G-erman Consul, Gh Yon der Heyde, Esq., and placed in the District Hospital, where he received treatment for three weeks with no indication of improvement, his case being pronounced by one and mII a hopeless one. Ihe captain of the Coronet, knowing that extraordinary cures had been effected by the use of Hitetens)' Celebrated Blood Restorer requested the proprietor of the Blood RestoriMto take the case in hand, aud a contract was entered into of "No cure, no pay." Mr Hilchens proceeded to the Hospital, examined the invalid and found him in an apparently dying state, with scarcely a epark of life left, Mr Hitchen? ordered the suffering man to be removed to his (Mr H's) private residence, wbere his whu's coulii be personally aHepded to by Mr Bitchene. The latter administered the medicine (i ha Blood 'Restorer) and used the ointment freely. Meanwhile, clergymen--culled, t renouncing- the ease beyond the power of man to effect a cure. However after six weeks the effeofc of the medicine became wonderfully apparent;. The Blood Restorer had acted (steadily but surely en the blood; the deadly impurities were gradually eliminated from the system until the stream of life flawed unchecked in its natural channels over the entire man. The bruin became clear and active, and the limbs ouoo asain rejoiced in natmal circulation, the patient rising to hfa feet cured of cUeaaes whieu hud bullied the.skill of leading physicians, a living proof of the wonderful healing powers of Hitchena' Celebrated Blood. .Restorer. TESTIMONIAL. . \ Auckland, N.Z.. To H. A. H. Hitchens, Esq. Before leuving Auckland on my return voyage to the Islands, 1 have to perform tlio pleasing duty of acknowledging the surprising care I have received at your hands. '.oaring to Auckland.as I did a dying man, being palsied and generally unconscious, and hearing from others that no hope of recovery was held out by medical men, I look upon you now as the preserver of my life. I am convinced that to your medicine alone is due the credit for my now being a living man. I beg to thank you most Biucerely for the kindness you have shewn me while stayii g in your house, and in conclusion would, earnestly recommend sick people to use your Blood .Restorer, as it is the most extraordinary purifier of the blood I everhea'd of, or met with in my travels. It is one of the many good gifts of a beneficent) Creator to his suffering children on thiß earth. W. OPPERMAN. ! Auckland, December 19,1879. Signed in the presence of G-.
