This day. Aspect of Affairs in Upper Waikato. The Force of Te Whitl's ExampleThe Sing natives in the Waikato are interrupting Major Jackson's Horohoro purchase. Fifty Hauhaus assembled, and threaten to carry the horses and ploughs to the King country. The natives in the north are obstructing the West Coast road, and hare threatened to pull down all the bridges but one over the Hotea river, which they say will be useful to themselves. They have been instigated by an emissary of Te Kooti. The Kaipara natives do not support them. - The report of the Harbor Board says for the proposed graving dock at Calliope Point the cost is estimated at £80,000. The tender of £2599 has been accepted for the construction of a new tee on the main wharf. : The Harbor Board demands from the agent of the 'Frisco steamers compensation for the collision with and damage done to the wharf by the mail steamer. Only seven men, out of an alleged 140 seeking for employment, applied at the City Council for »tonebreaking. Private advices report that Sir E. W. Stafford has joined the London directory of the Loan and Mercantile Agency. The drainage operations in the Wai kato are in full swing.
