(To the Editor of the Evening Star.)
Gbeeukgs,—Behold I lay upon my bed, yea I was asleep and woke from my slumbers : for the spirit of prophecy came upon me, and I was troubled with the weight of my burden. .Hath not the Editor of Enoch spoken? yea, bellowed through the star of tbe evening ; and he belloweth like one having authority, and not as a bull. Howl, O ye infidels of Grahamstpwn; shrink, oye sceptics of Shortland ; for this white Te Whiti bath discovered your sins, ycß, found ye are the agents of Satan. He hath given ye your portion with the liar, and as stabbers in the dark with the murderer. He hath warned ye of hell-and damnation, and behold ye have turned a deaf ear. His paper is free as salvation, and ye have not believed its report. He is full of the mysteries of Revelation ; behold, he hath Daniel on the brain. He knoweth the past and the future, yea, from the kingdom of Heaven to Turkey. He is wise but his wisdom ye slight, ye have laughed him to scorn in your folly. But every dog has iiis day, and he yet shall laugh at your calamity. Ye may hide your real names from the world, but by the law and the prophets he shall unearth them. Weep, O ye diabolical scribes, Enoch hath given ye up; he shall argue not with ye; yea, he shall strive with ye no more. For if ye but doubt his word-ye are scoffers beyond redemption. Crooked and unprincipled ye are, and cowards, the greatest and least of ye. Lift up your pens no more, for he hath said we have had enough of them; lay them away to rust, for the editor of Enoch hath given his ultimatum. Let's have no more of your infidel rubbish, for a greater than Te Whiti hath spoken, and he that believeth him shall be saved, and he that believeth not him is a blasphemer on whom all the fire and plagues he hath handled shall fall, and behold they are set forth in Enoch.
