Sub-Inspector Pardy made another seizure of smuggled goods today. A i man named Jacob Seuft lauded at Lyttpl* ton with three hundred pounds worth of jewellery from Sydney. He evaded the Customs here, and sold portions at Christchurch, Wellington, West Coast and Nelson, and was' selling the balance at Auckland when the police made the seizure. The goods seized are valued at £150 wholesale. A penalty of £100, forfeiture, and costs was imposed. The horse-whipping case came before the Police Court to-day. Capt.
