DAUNTLESS
The tributers, Downie and party, banked another 501 bs of specimens to-day, making the total quantity in hand about 2cwt. The last parcel banked is estimated to be worth about an ounce per lb, so that next crashing they should have a. fine yield. The section worked, for which they pay 15 per cent., adjoins the Point Russell section: of the Moanatairi mine. They are working on a cross-lode running up and down the creek, and it averages about 18 inches aud shows gold freely. Where they are working at present, they are getting the best stone yet obtained,: and from the indications even a greater improvement is probable.
