London, August 31. Four land meetings were held in Ireland on Sunday, when resolutions were passed in favor of abolishing landlordism. The Hon. Mr Gladstone has visited Hartmouth, Falmouth, Dublin, and Greenock. He mtf with an enthusiastic reception at Dublin, and in reply to a deputation at Greenock admitted that his health was improved.

London, August 30. Khelat has been evacuated and the Khan's garrison ordered to join General Roberts' army.
From all parts of Afghanistan come reports of the scarcity of fodder, and the horses employed in the military, service had to be put on half allowance. Advices from Beloochistan state that the native population are restless, and disturbances are feared.
Serious discontent also prevails among the Pathans at Kurrage, the principal seaport, town of Scinde, in ilindostan. Fearing a revolt, the British Minister ordered their disarmament, aud has taken steps to be prepared for any emergency. The Czar of Russia has started for Lividia, and will spend the winter there.
