The Melbourne Exhibition.

(FROM OtTR OWK COBBXBFOKDEKT.)

Melbourne, August 16. I reached Melbourne on the 6th inst., and lost no time in prooeeding to the Melbourne Exhibition building. Every* thing is getting on satisfactorily, and by the time appointed for the opening I believe most of the courts will be in a presentable condition. Mr Callis, the secretary to the New Zealand Commit* sion, is working very hard, and is sparing no pains to make the court a credit to the colony. The packages from New Zealand are being opened and the goods placed in position. Mrs Tizard's drawings arrived quite safe—those I mean that appeared at the Sydney Exhibition —but I am sorry to aay Mr Plant's pottery suffered in transitu. Numbers of ladies and gentlemen visit the Exhibition as the work proceeds, and have expressed admiration at the articles sent from our colony. I am glad to say that Mr Callis is seeing that the Thames exhibits are beiog laid out to the best advantage, and our nook in the Court will be a credit to the district. The New Zealand Court is very well situated, being near the New South Wales, Queensland, and French annexes, and is sore to prove one of the attractions of the Exhibition. Mr Callis is exceedingly energetic, and deserves the best thanks of the New Zea> land exhibitors. Mr Bush's collection of of kauri gum has arrived in excellent order, and the favored few who hare seen that handsome exhibit praise it highly, and think it will be one of the ornaments of the Court. You may expect a longer letter by the next mail.
