SEDUCTION OP THE BEER TAX TO THREEPENCE. — GOT. ENMENT DEFEAT.

In Committee on the Beer Duty Bill, Mr Ballanee moved that the duty be threepence instead of sixpence. The Deceased Persons Estate Duty Bill, Stamp Fee Bill, and Stamp Act Amendment Bil were read a second time and passed through Committee, and the latter read a third time and passed.

The Waikato Confiscated Lands Bill was read a second time and passed through Committee.

The House rose at 2.20.
