From our Parliamentary it will be seen that last evening the übiquitous Vincent Pyke made a startling charge against the Premier and Mr Wright, a member of the Railway Commission, viz, that the Sheffield-Oxford line, recommended by the Commission is only a pretext to get the line continued to Temuka, when it would pass through the estates of the gentlemen referred to. Although Mr Hall denied the statement in toto > we do not doubt but that there is some truth in the charge, e?en after making allowance for Mr Pyke's bitterness against the Government over the Otage Central Bail way rote. That he feels the Government's harsh treatment of his pet scheme, is evident, as we also find that be has given notice of a want of confidence motion in the Ministry. In this he will doubtless be strongly supported by the more independent of the Otsgo members. If the mover presses
the motion it will probably prolong the session for an indefinite period, and while it cannot hare any effect on the Government, it will retard business, and pat the country to considerable expense.
