Last Night's Sitting.
On the House resuming, Sir George Grey addressed it for about an hour on the land question, generally supporting tho resolution of Mr DeLautour, and condemning the manner the Hon. Mr Rblleston had spoken of that hon. member.
The motion for going into Committee of Supply was carried by 41 to 25, the amendment being negatived. In Supply, the items, roads in the North Island, £49,900; roads; bridges, and wharves north of Auckland, £66,650; and roads and bridges in unsettled districts, Patea and Taranaki, £48,716, were passed.
This day. The discussion in Committee of Supply on the Public Works Estimates lasted till 4.30 this morning, when all the items were passed without any important reductions.
The House adjourned till 7.30 this evening.
