MOANATAIRI.

At the 100 feet level a small leader has come into the face of the drive, and the manager thinks he will soou hare the reef. At the Creek level the reef is about two feet in thickness, and the staff from the stopes crushes payably at the battery. In the tunnel level the qaarlz in the Golden Age rise is improving "m appearance", and lcoks better for gold. The Nonpareil crosscut isr making first class progress, being in a gpod'diss of country for sold. The manager's weekly report is es follows:—" Tunnel level.—Nonpareil crosscut has been extended 50 feet during last forinight through a good class of country containing nice looking leaders and stringers'of quartz- flbe main slide has cot yet been intersected, but from the appearance of the grouud 1 am daily expecting it. The slide has probably taken a more seaward bend or it would have been met with ere bow. Golden Age rise is up 25 feet, and the quartz on the hanging wall part of tbe reef is improving upwards. The numerous leaders which are dropping in from hanging-wall side give a more pr^mis'.ng appeavarice for ,»old. Main tunnel is hot baing veframed through Long Drive section and while this work is in progress only one shift-of two men is employed in the rise above referred to. In stopes upon branches of Nos. 2 and 3 reefs the leaders intersect each other so frequently that it is impossible to describe all the workings. The stopes throughout are however looking very well, and during the past fortnight have produced 302 tons of stuff, including 2cwt of picked Btone, the yield of gold being 280 ounces. Point Russell section —The stopes at Creek level are p:oduoing payable stuff, the reef being two feet thick. At 100 feet level there is 20 feet to drive to get under the winze. A i

leacier four inches thick is now in the faCe and the reef appears to be making again. —I am, &c, Robebt Comeb.
