HAURAKI ENGINEERS.
The monthly inspection of this crack company was held on Wednesday evening at the drill shed, and notwithstanding the heavy fain that fell about the commencement of the parade there was a splendid muster of both company and band. The officers present were Captain Small and Lieut. Leydon, and there were also present —Major Withers (inspecting officer), Major Murray, and Lieut-Instructor Grant. A minute inspection showed the arms and accoutrements to be in excellent order, which called warm enconiums from the gallant major., The officers having exhibited their own proficiency and that of their men, Major Withers complimented them for their strong muster and great proficiency. We must not forget to mention that the band, under bandmaster Sullivan, added greatly to the success of the inspection, by performing several selection in excellent time and tune.
