BILLS PASSED.

The Deceased Wife's Sister's Marriage Bill was read a third time and passed, after a brief discussion, on a division of 32 to 13.

The Mining Companies Act Amendment Bill, in committee, had clause 13 excised, and was reported as amended, read a third time and passed. The amendments of the Council in the Public Health Amendment Bill were agreed to. The House then went into Committee on the Payment of Members Bill., This day. In Committee on the Payment of Members Bill, Mr Shepherd wished to fix the Honorarium at £105, but Wallis, Bunney, Trimble, and others thought £210 little enough. After considerable discussion the Bill was shelved by a motion that the Chairman leave the chair, it being carried by 25 to 25. The Law Practitioners Act Amendment Bill was read a second time.

The Municipal Corporations Act Amendment Bill was recommitted and further amended and then read a third time and passed. The House rose at 2.35.
