NEW WHAU.

The crushing for this company is showing for an average of about 2 onnces per ton. At the mine driving at the 160 feet level is suspended for a day or two, and none of the quartz from here is being sent to the mill, it not having proved sufficiently remunerative. At the inter* mediate drive a wedge of highly miaeralised stone is rising from the floor in the lode, and it has a very promisng appearance. In the stopes good mineral dirt continues to come to hand and the lode looks well. The stope has not yet been carried across the spot near the break alluded to in a previous report as a likely place for gold, but it will be some time next week. The manager experiences no difficulty in getting his stuff to the mill, and the mine is in good working order.
