COLUMBIA.

During the past fortnight 25 feet has been driven, leaving a distance of 15 feet stiil to drive to complete the' present contract. Early in the fortnight the contractors were in hard blue country, but of late a change for the better has set in, and they are now driving through a nice sandstone formation thickly interlaced with mineral veins, which leads to the surmise that when the lode is to hand it will prove to be of payable quality.
