Mr J. B. Fisher brought up a report of the Goldfields Committee on a petition of Henry T. Howe andi)B others, stating that.the committee had no recommendations to make, and reprobating the grave charges made in the petition against the Warden and Resident Magistrate at the Thames, the same being wholly unsupported by the evidence, Mr Stewart presented a petition from Duncdin residents, protesting against section 78 of the new Licensing Bill. The Hon. Mr Dick called attention to the fact that the language employed by the petition was disrespectful. The Speaker put the question whether it be read,' and its reception was carried on the voices. LICENSING BILL. In replying to a question it was stated that Government expected the Licensing Bill would be further considered in a few days. A number of unimportant motions were disposed of, and bills read a second time, afterwards the House adjourned.
