Mr Brassey this time
His Turn has Come
This petition is signed by H. £. Campbell Esq., a solicitor of the Supreme Court of New Zealand, and sets forth that on the 22nd day of May last a subpoena was served upon one Francis Brogan to attend to give evidence in a certain case that came before the Licensing Bench, and that the said G. N. Brassey, after requesting the said Francis Brogan to call at his office, sought to get from the said Francis Brogan the evidence lie intended to give in the case to come before the Court.
2. That on the 27th of May the said G. N. Brassey after advising the said Brogan not to attend the-Court upon the subpoena, offered a sum of money to enable the said Brogan to proceed to Auckland and the Waikato, but which Brogan refused to accept.
3. That the above facts were given in evidence in Court on the Ist day of June.
4. Tour petitioner respectfully submits that the above facts being true the said G. N. Brassey is not a fit and proper person to occupy the position of a J, P. or a Coroner of the Colony, and therefore prays that an enquiry may be made into the above allegations, and such other relief granted to your petitioner at may seem meet under the circumstances.
