PINAFORE.

, Sib, —I am informed from a good authority, that at the late performance on Thursday last when the liberal bene/iciare was asked by a well-known oitisen whether any refreshments had been pro* rided for the ladies and gentlemen amateurs by the gentleman abore alluded to, the citizen received the following answer); "They're all right, they don't require anything." This worthy citizen feeling the indignity offered to. the ladies and gentlemen comprising the oompany, with that usual liberality for wbioh he is characterised defrayed the expenses of refreshments rather than they should go unprorided, no doubt this eitisen will feel annoyed that this should be made public. I should not hare commented upon the affair, but haying derired my information from what I considered good authority, 1 cannot refrain from expressing myself at the want of liberality displayed, as I consider the whole, of the ladies' and gentlemen amateurs of the " Pinafore oompany used their most assiduous efforts to» make the whole a thorough success, and I do not think they deserved this treatment. I hope the statement contained herein is groundless, and I should like.the same oontrsdioted, as some very curious rumors hare been circulated within the last week regarding the sordidness displayed by interested parties in connection with the production of the opera .for such a worthy obt'ect.—l am, &c, Libs«alitt.
