However in apite of all the combined efforts of the sai< gentlemen, the malady took such a bad turi that the patient was lying in uninterrupte< wou-nd-fever, and on the 17th August, 1877 the opinion was given by Dr Maegillivraj that an amputation of the injured limb hai become imperatiTe, in order to save life. A this juncture I called on Messrs Sander an< Sons, procuring some of their Extract of th Eucalyptus Globulus. and by the applioatioi of the same I had the satisfaction of seeinj my ton within a fortnight out of all dangei and to-day be is recovered. I may just adi that it was when the crisis had been reached that the extract referred to was first applied I abstain from expressing my feelings toward Messrs Sander and Sons in this declaration but anyone may imagine them better than ' can describe them in words. And I mak this solemn declaration conscientiously be lieving the same to be true, and by virtue o the provisions of an Act of the Parliament a Victoria, rendering persons making a fals declaration punishable for wilful and oorrup perjury.—Fbanz Baabe, Declared at Sand hurst, in the Colony of Victoria, this seven teenth day of October, one thousand eigh hundred and seventy-seven, before.. m< MoritfCohn, J.P.
