Sydney, Sunday. EXTENSIVE FIRE IN SYDNEY. An extensive fire broke oat in George street at midnight. Gordon and Gotch's and other premises were totally destroyed. The loss is estimated at £10,000. The insurances on the buildings,are heavy. Later This day. The insurances oa the George street fire include £10,000 in the New Zealand Company. Mr Boakes, photographer, next to Gordon and Gotoh, was also destroyed by fire. Melboubne, Sunday. THE CUP. Grain Water won the Cop. Melbourne, TbJ&pftay. It is stated that Mclntyre wh\was a candidate for Sandhurst in the Ministerial interest at the late election intends suing the Age for £5,000 damages for saying he was bought pver by the Gorernment by giving his son an appointment. TEERIBLE TKAGEDY. A terrible tragedy took place at the Opera House on Saturday. A young man named Greer shot his wife and a Frenchman named Soudry, and afterwards shot himself. It. is supposed to be through jealousy of Soudry. They are all dangerously wounded, Greer mortally.
