WELLINGTON.
This day.
A charge of a disgusting nature against Herman Mumm, a seaman on board the Stella, is proceeding at the Police Court.
The diamond rings seized by police from the Adelaide bankrupt—Gleich, and recently ordered by the Supreme Court to be returned, were offered, for sale by auction. Previous to the sale, the Collector of Customs intimated that the rings were not duty paid, and proceeds would have to be forfeited. The sale proceeded, and an amount of nearly £150 will be paid to the Customs.
Mumm, on two charges of a disgusting nature, was committed for trial.
The Wakatipu, which left for Sydney this afternoon, will on her return trip, bring down two racehorses, Lady Emma and Titana, purchased by Sir Hercules Robinson from McLamond.
