This day.
Thompson's store, Forth street, was destroyed by fire at eleven, last night. The origin of the fire is unknown. The building was insured for £'200 in the Norwich Union, the stock; for £400 in the South 'British. .
At two this morning a two-storey building, formerly occupied as the Auld Scotland Hotel was burned down. Insurance on the building in the National £500. Re-insured as follows:—In the Transatlantic, Norwich Union, Victoria, South British £100 each; stock £150 and furniture £350 in the Royal.
