The intelligence and respectability of the supporters of Messrs Brassey and Mclihone was made a great point of by them at the meetiDg last evening.. Some of their myrmidons, who *ere'utterly at sea as to what was going on, kept up an-artillery fire of cheers at certain periods, md were particularly conspicuous when Messrs Brassey and Mclihone were speaking.: They were then in safety, and increased their discharge of Tocal grape with every sentence. When the Ber. Mr Laishley rose to propose his resolution, they were a trifle at a loss to know how to act. One more knowing than the rest cheered the rer. gentletlemari, when be was indignantly -stopped by the others who told him in voices of suppressed rage that " that was not the place to cheer." After this who can doubt the intellectuality permeating in the minds of some of the doughty adherents of M, B. and F. ?
