Writs have been issued upon Mr Mcllwraitb, Premier, the Colonial Treasurer, and upon Palmer, Colonial Secretary, for £3000 each for sitting in the Legislative Assembly while, as alleged, | they were disqualified from doing so in the Assembly. ! Last night a committee was appointed to enquire into the petition of Hemmant, making allegations against the conduct of the Queensland Government business in London, and implicating Mr Mcllwraith (the Premier) and Palmer, Colonial Secretary. The Union * Company's Arawata and Pacific mail steamship City of New York sailed for Auckland yesterday.
