AUCKLAND.
This day. Wickham in Trouble.
Wickham, proprietor of the Auckland Free Lance had his nose, sererely pulled yesterday by a member of the Frolique Company fpr condemning their entertain* ment before seeing it as " another lot of Yankee trash." Other newspapers speak well of the performance. Wickham did not get an advertisement which is supposed to be the cause of his animus.
At a meeting of pharmaceutical chemists to discuss the Pharmacy Act, J. Edson was appointed to proceed; to, Wellington and discuss matters with the general Council. Aickin said he thought meet* ings of the Society should be migratory, and not centred at Wellington—in fact eonduoted like the annual assemblages of the British Association of Social Science and other great bodies.
