Mining Review of the Week.

Many knowing ones were inclined to associate the abnormal quietude in the sharemarket the latter part of last week, and the beginning of this to the disappointment Auckland holders must have felt in the non-realisation of their golden hopes, with respect to the the Kuranui Hill mine. For some reason or another, Auckland people had entirely pinned their faith to this mine, and a damping effect was felt in every stock in the field, However," the market appears to be picking up again, and people appear to be very confident of the success of many of the new ventures floated. Though hope deferred has doubtless long since made the hearts of the Victoria shareholders sick, the shares are well held, and there has been quite a demand for Mints and Reuben Parrs ([during the latter part of the week.

We are glad to notice that both the Cure and Caledonian companies have set good example by posting their mining telegrams at the Corner for the benefit of Thames shareholders. Many of our premier mines have their offices in Auckland, and it not unfrequently happens that Auckland shareholders have information respecting important changes in their mines long before the local holders. We trust that the principle now initiated will be followed by the other companies.
