Last Night's Sitting.

On the House resuming at 7.30, Mr Seddou moved the second reading of the Payment to Members Bill. The Hon. Mr Hall admitted that the poorest men in the Colony should be enabled to sit in either branch of the Legislature without loss to himself, ard should receive an allowance for expenses. While sympathising with the object of the bill, he urg"d its withdrawal. Mr Moss supported payment to members. After some discussion Mr Murray moved that the bill be read that day three months.—Ultimately the bill was read a second time without a division. This day. After a further debate on Payment of Ministers, the bill was read a second lime on the voices. .

The Dentists Bill was read a second time. The Municipal Corporations Act Amendment Bill was further considered in committee. Progress was reported and the House rose at 12.30.
