Naval Brigade Prize Firing.

The above company competed at the range on Saturday in two squads for prizos. The weather was very unfavourable to good scores being made, the wind being vei'y unsteady throughout the day. The first prize is a handsomo diamond

ring for first class shots, and the second a set of gold studs (manufactured by Mr Cook son) for second chiss shots. Both these are the captain's prizes ; the highest scorer also counts once the winner of Mrs Quint's prize. The competition for the captain's prizes is an aggregate of three competitions. The scores are not up to the usual average of the En^de, but taking the bad weather into cons/deration and also the ranges, 300, 4CO, and 503— 8-inch bull's-eye at 3C9—the scores are very fair.
