VICTORIA.
At about eleven o'clock to-day the shift touched quartz, and in a Cow minutes the wall of the long looked for lode was disclosed, running at an acute angle with the course of the drive, so that tin manager did right in turning the direction. Nothing is known as to the quality of the quartz, as the men are engaged in squaring up, and it is probable no quartz will be broken till to-morrow or Monday..Ahe country is splendid for gold, and I will be much surprised if something good is not obtained.
