The directors have intrasted the supervision of this mice in'tiie hands of Mr Crawford, and he has started a parly of men to drive at No. 3 level for the lode cut off by the slide near the Otago boundary. It will be remembered that a winze was sunk on the lode connecting the two levels, ;nd gold was obtci *ed right on the seam.- The present: drive is following the course of the slide, which bears traces of quartz formation, in the hope of cutting the No. 1 reef at this level. The country is of highly a favorable description to the existence of payably auviferous quartz.
