NEW GOLDEN CROWN.

The crashing for this mine at the Queen of Beauty mill was finished today for the yield of 74 ounces gold. This return is highly satisfactory as the amount crushed was only 54 loads, and the crashing was purely one of general dirt from the big reef at Intermediate level. A start has been made at repairing the recently purchased Golden Crown battery, and this lone silent machine wi'l probably be at work in six weeks' time. Comparatively speaking, very little repairs need to bd executed, severe! of tha stamper boxes being almost new. The Wheeler's pans will be sold as old iron, and several new berdans fixed. The chief alteration v. .11 be the lessening of. the fall of the tables. The engine, belting, and other gear is in first-class condition. At the 100 feet level another nice-looking auriferous leader was iatersected in the cross-cut. This work is making first-class progress through good ground. The cross-cut contract at the Battery level is completed, and tOday a start was made at opening

out on tho specimen lode. At present the men are engaged in stripping tlio roof, and the manager informs me that it is probable the first breaking down will take place on Monday.
