The half-yearly meeting of the Court "Pride of Paaell," No. 4409, Ancient Order of Foresters was held lust evening at the Foresters' Hall, Owen street. The Court was opened in usur\ foiai, Cttief Banger Edwin Bennett presiding, After the disposal of the usual rottt' >c business,, the Con "t proceeded to the election of officers for the ensuing term of six months, with the following result:— Chief Banger, James Duggan;SubChief Banger, George Constable; Senior Woodward, Henry ilay; Jun:or Woodward, Hugh Hill; Junior Bea<le, William Bozall; Surgeons, Drs Payne, Huxtable, and CfUan; Assistant Secretary, John Poulgrain: Auditor George Wilson, P.C.E. The retiring Chief Hanger, having installed his successor, vacated the Chair. The Chief Bsnger elect, with the assis* tance of District Chief Banger S. C. Schofield, installed the other officers elect. The installation ceremony being completeJ, a rote of thanks was tendered to tiie out-going officers, and it was resolved that the usual framed certificate end past officer's neck ribbon be presented to the retiring Chief Banger, and that his name be placed on the merit board—a distinction much sought a.er by all loyal Foresters.. A motion to extend the sick benefits—uotice of which had been given at a previous meeting—was put to the Court, and carried uusaimously. After entertriniog a proposal for membership, which was accepted, subject to the approval of the next regaler meeting, the Court was closed in unity, benevolence, and concord.
