There was great excitement yesterday over the Waitaki election. The following are the total numbers polled by candidates :~ Jones 775 Reid 666 Roberts ... ... „. 168 There were 31 informal voters. The body of a child evidently aged about a week was found under the bridge on the South road. To-day the police have the matter in hand.
