After a telegraph pole had fallen on * Savannah negro's head, he threw up his hands and shouted: "Don't hit me again wid yer olab, Mr Policeman. It wasn't me dat stale der chickens, it was Deacon Henery." Then he looked, saw what hit him, and walked off,saying: "Golly, Pie in luck dis mornin'. I 'spected dat de policeman had me shoah dat time."
