AUCKLAND.
This day,
Two men named Welch and Francis were charged with uttering a false deed purporting to convoy over four.acres of land at Mahurangi. The Inspector said the land belonged to a man named Moore, who was deceased. The case was remanded.
Ingothe St. Just McKay was brought up on remand charged with trying to induce a Frenchman named Juliot to commit an unnatural offence. Much evidence, unfit for publication was adduced. It is anticipated St. Just will be committed for trial.
A meeting of brewers to-day resolved that the Beer Tax ought to be 3d instead oftfd.
