A Bridge Acboss the Ganges.—lt is stated that the Secretary of State has accorded his sanction for the construction of the bridge across the Ganges which is - to connect the present termini of the Oude and Kohilkund and East Indian - . Bail ways on either bank of that river at_ Benares. The bridge will be constructed by the former ra'lway, the agent of which > has applied to the Government of Indian for sanction for the carrying oat of a proposal for the construction and working until the bridge is completed of a steam ferry for conveying loaded waggons across ; the river between the two stations.
