(To the Editor of the Evening Stab.)
Sib,—The Thames public are well satisfied that the Licensing Court refused to renew the licenses of several unnecessary " hotels." There are yet at least 13 of these so-called hotels within the Borough, at which the ordinary traveller cannot obtain bed, breakfast, dinner, or | tea ; in fact, they are only drinking shops, j and why their licenses were renewed, it would puzzle the Court to say—except that they wanted to pay money, and the i Court did not like to refuse them the pleasure of selling the "Real Old Jamaica " so much appreciated by Stigginb.
