AUCKLAND.
Last night. At a meeting of the Harbour Board, the engineer reported that the damage to the wharf by the City of Sydney amounted to £120. Captain Dearborn accounts for the accident through the steamer not baring sufficient water. Captain Burgess urges the Board to erect a light on Mokohimau island. The secretary of the Shipwrights Protection Society wrote complaiuing that the Chairman c; the Harbour Board, in furtherance of his desire to injure the society, had taken some of his employes from work in hand in order to effect repairs to the Board's barges, thus injuring wives and families who depended upon them for support. .Referred to the Works Committee.
CHBISTCHUKCH. Last night. Yesterday Camballo and Mata were nominated by telegram for the Hawkesbury Metropolitan Handicap and Melbourne Cup.
