(Per favor of the Evening Star.) Sib,—From your report of (he Special Meeting of the Borough Council, I see that all asphalt works are to be stopped for the winter. This simply means that the South Ward shall not receive justice. No sooner is Queen street, Graliamstown, finished than the above resolution is passed, without a word of remonstrance on the part of the represmtatives for the South Ward. It would be much better if the South Ward were without a representative, or misrepresentative, than to have persons to reprosent us whose interest is not our interest. I wonder what Cra Marshall and Mennie would have said to such a resolution had Queen street not been finished. The Council have been to considerable expense in laying a water-table in Mary street, and if the work were completed, as it ought to be, the cost of the whole could be recovered. The street now is in a far worse state than it was before the watertable was laid down, as now the water cannot'get away, the kerbing being much higher than the path. I have no wish to be hard on Cr Marshall, but I must say that the manner in which he is neglecting his duties to this Ward does not reflect anyigfedit either on himself nor those who plSCea him in his present position,—l am, &c, W. Plant. Thames, 27th May, 1980. (For remainder of News xne Ist Page.)
