WATER DRAINAGE.
The depth of water on Saturday, the 29th of May, 1880, was in the U.P.A. shaft 296 feet, Crown Princess shaft 265£
feet, and Piako shaft 240J feet. Since the Queen of Beauty Pump was started the water in their shaft has been lowered 5| feet.
