CALEDONIAN.
Mr Stone, the contractor for the erection of the new poppets has got the legs in position, and will be finished in a few days. He is making a very substantial job. The only work at present in progress in the mine is the sinking of a winze to connect the No. 2 and 3 levels, this being a continuation of the winze connecting tin Nos. 1 and 2 levels. Besides assisting in the op*;iing of the mine this new work will greatly improve the ventilation.
