MOANATAIRI.

The following is the manager's weekly report:—Point Bussell section : Diiving east at creek level has been suspend:d and we are now continuing the ICD-feet level in order to communicate with winze being sunk from the level above. This is now down 31 feet, carrying a r~ef four feet thick. In sinking the last 6 feet quariz stringers have come in from footwall, consequently the stone does not show so much j&fieral, and is of lower grade, but for a oeptii of 25 feet down winze the stone is worth l^ozs per ton. Tunnel level: In driving east the big reef stiU shows copper and mundic, which are good indications for gold. Nonpareil crosscut is still going through blue rock, which being full of "faces " is favourable for driving. 80tt level: In driving crosscut west a reef 1 foot thick has been intersected. This shows good splats of gold, and is, I think, the footwall leader worked in levels above.. We are now opening it up, right and left. During the past fortnight the stuff from ail the stopes has been of lower grade than foimerly. A winze has beea sunk for the purpose of ventilat-.i ing from 132 level to stopes above iannel level on No. 3 reef, which have been rery hot to work in. 346 tons have been crushed, yielding 218oza retorted gold.— RoBEBT CoMEE."
