CALEDONIAN SHAFT.
The men- employed by the Kuranui Hill and Caledonian at the No. 3 level were driven out of the workings to-day by the gas. Arrangements are being made for improving the ventilation by moans of a stream of water, and it is hope! work will be resumed immediately.
