AUCKLAND.
This day. The settlers of Whangarei at a me'e'tiug resolved to urge on Government to sot aside land in the North Auckland district for the consumption of a trunk railway north, they, also decided to frame a memorial from the Local Bodies to Parliament. It is not expected the Auckland members w.'l leave for Wellington untilMoDday or Tnosday week. The late rains have caused great silting at the incomplete railway reclamation works. The entrance lo -the dock is rapidly closing. Muck apathy is-shown in the registration in all the Auckland Electoral Districts. At Thames, JJoduoy, 'and other districts the number of electors on the new rolls arc less thau under the old' system.
