The company's hands are now working uninterruptedly at the No. 3 level cleaning out the slushy deposit left by the water. It will take several days to cleanse the level, and then work will be commenced on a lode about two feet thick—supposed to be a branch of No. 1. la this reef, before the rising of the water stopped operations, nice looking gold was obtained from two places, and Mr Walker informs me that gold was left in the, face. At the battery a small parcel of staff from the stopes near the Moanatairi boundary is being crushed. Ralph and party, company's tributers,, finish: d a crushing of 5 tons for the yield of 3ozs. lldwts gold. Pearce and party will finish a crushing of iO tons this afternoon. McEwen and party, Moanatairi tribute™, will clean up to-night, and also Coutts and party, after a 'trial crushing from a block above the Caledonian No. 2 level on Hazelbank section. James and party have a crushing of 23 tons going through from the Deep lead section. Corin and party will finish in a day or so for a payable yield. Pearce and party's crushing yielded 3ozs 9dwts.
